Well it has been a long tme since my last post, but I wanted to do a post about basketball. On a personal note since getting married my 15-20 points per game in teh pick up games that we play every Wednesday night have dropped to about 10-12 its really pretty pathetic but hopefully I can get back into shape soon. As far as the Jazz go its been a crazy season. It all started this off season when the Jazz matched Portlands offer for Paul Millsap, which we all thought meant the end of the Carlos Boozer era, but here we are and Booz is still the Jazz starting PF and I hate to say it but I am very happy to have Booz on the roster he has played great. Hot Rod officially retired from broadcasting and the Jazz rightfully retired his microphone. May the “cow hide glode hit home” live on forever!!! Where do I think the Jazz stand in the Western conference? I think they are just as competitive as every other team, but I would be very happy if the Jazz and Mavs end up on the same side of the bracket and Denver gets stuck playing the Lakers. As good as the Jazz are I still think we need a little help from another team to get past those pesky Lakers, we just don’t match up well. Here’s to the Jazz and may they finish the season strong!!! Utah State has won 15 straight and climbing this might the year we finally break the first round curse. GO JAZZ, GO AGGIES!
Well,
It’s been a while since I have updated my sports blog and boy oh boy do I have some things to say!!! Deron Williams and the Utah Jazz seem to be playing better than we have seen them all year. During the month of February the Jazz have posted a 12-1 record and Deron Williams has averaged 22.3 points and 11.6 assists per game. What can we learn from this??? One thing is that Deron Williams has not been given the love he deserves at a national level. There are talks of Chris Paul being MVP worthy and that Brandon Roy should be in the same conversation with D-Wade, LeBron and Kobe… GIVE ME A FREEKING BREAK!!! Lets face it Brandon Roy will never be in the same class as those three guys, because he is one of the most boring players in NBA history. He can’t dunk, he doesn’t have a nasty crossover. He is a good player (by good I mean dirty), but he is not exciting to watch. Chris Paul on the other hand sure does have the stat line to be considered an MVP candidate, but when comparing these guys to a true talent like Deron Williams we learn a few things. Deron Williams has one of the sickest crossovers the world has ever seen. I think he may end up setting a record for breaking the most opponents ankles in NBA history… enough said on that he is not boring and a much better player than Brandon Roy. Chris Paul on the other hand gets more points per game than Deron Williams so logic states Chris Paul must be a better player. Logic in this case is dead wrong. Deron Williams doesn’t need to score 20+ points per game for the Jazz to win. We know that he can of course score at will when asked to do so. Being on a better team with better players than the Hornets ‘D’ is not asked to do as much as CP3 in the scoring department. Head to Head D-Will has owned Chris Paul… Last year the Jazz won 3 out of 4 games last year against the Hornets and D-Will dominated CP3 in almost every statistical catagory. This year they have met twice with the Jazz winning both games. In the first game The Jazz won 116-90 Deron barely had to play 3 quaters. In the second matchup the Jazz won 102-88 so on average the Jazz beat the Hornets by an average of 20 points per game in each meeting. In the most recent head to head dual Deron had 20 points and 13 assists and Paul had 26 points and 7 assists. The stat line looks pretty close, but in reality it was the stupid turnovers of Chris Paul down the stretch that cost the hornets the game. If I am a coach and I want someone running the show for my team, I want a guy that has BALLS and that’s D-Will. He doesn’t crack under pressure in fact he rises above it. NO GUTS NO GLORY as D-Will’s TATs read explains it all. In a big game you need a guy that can stay cool and rise to the occasion and D-Will is one of the best there is. THAT’S IT D-WILL DESERVES ALOT OF LOVE!!! SO I AM GIVING IT!!!!
The Jazz took the floor last night without the best point guard in the league. Deron Williams in his spiffy pinstriped suit, had to watch the Jazz home opener from the bench. The jazz started Ronnie Price in his place and still managed to play great team basketball. I think Ronnie Price is developing into a great backup and getting the chance to start while D-Will is out can only make him better.
In another turn of events Andrei Kirilenko is looking to de-thrown Manu Ginobli as the NBA’s best sixth man. His 16 points off the bench just go to show how deep the Jazz really are. The lakers might be 11 deep but as shown with Morris Almond our depth extends even into the D-League!!!!
Booz Played well (lets hope he keeps it up even in the playoffs), Okur got his double double, and Ronnie Brewer does what he does best DUNK, and DUNK and DUNK. He will probably have one of the highest FG percentages in the league this year!

- Brewer Dunks, and Battier wishes he were that good!
Overall it looks to be a close race in the west for supremacy. The Lakers have looked sharp two games in a row, the Hornets won in a barnburner and the Jazz took care of business without Deron Williams. I think we are going to see the Spurs and Suns fall from grace and become the last teams in the playoffs (if at all). The rockets look to be in the middle of the pack and i’m going to hold up my prediction that the Jazz will win the West outright (regular season and playoffs)!!!!
Well until next time go JAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!

The Buffalo Bills got thier Quarterback back and went to town on the San Diego Chargers!!! I have grown quite fond of WINNING!!!! It has been a while that the Buffalo Bills were this good. I think this years team is only going to get better. Well its still early in the season and we are going to be starting our division games now. This is going to be a true test for AMERICAS TEAM!!!! That’s right I said it… We wear the red, white and blue! The doplhins should be a push over this week then we have the Pat and Jets in slightly tougher matchups. GOOOOOOOOO BILLLLLLLLLLLLLS!!!!!!!!

Well, The first preseason game is in the books and the Jazz have already one upped the Lakers!!! Without boozer the jazz still managed to hold thier own in the middle with Millsap played an exceptional game. Deron speard the ball well and Kobe was held in check by our four shooting guards, we definately have a ton of depth at that position. CJ and Ronnie played an amazing game, but I was most impressed with Morris Almond. He has truly developed into a great player. We watched him dominate the D-League last year as if he were back at Rice University playing with 18 year old freshmen. So my prediction is the Jazz make another run at the finals. They will likely run into the Lakers or Rockets in the Western conference finals and that should make jazz fan’s lives much easier considering the only team we can’t beat is San Antonio. Well, that just about covers my first post on the Jazz

Well lets start this blog off on the right foot! The Buffalo Bills took the field on Sunday with a perfect 3-0 record. After going down early to the Rams 13-6 Trent Edward led his team to it’s second come from behind victory of the season! I think this is a real character builder. Trent has shown great pois in getting them back in games in which they trail early. I think he can be classified as the best QB we have had since the Jim Kelly days, even though there will always be a soft spot in my heart for Doug Flutie. The running back situation looks good. You have to admire Marshawn’s uncanny ability to carry 12 people into the endzone! Things are looking good so far! NFL.com’s Vic Carruci lists the Bills as the third best team in the NFL http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80b40e87&template=without-video&confirm=true ESPN has them at number 4 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking?season=2008&week=5 I think even though they are off to a good start and have won the close games, they still have alot to prove, whereas; their 4 opponents have a combined record of 4-11. That being said we lost to all of th ecruddy teams last year and dominated the ones with winning records. The Bills are already a lock for the playoffs and may win the AFC East. Tom Brady’s injury may have killed my fantasy football championship dreams but it did wonders for the Bills chances of winning the division. Well untill next time Go Buffalo!!!! Oh yeah and Jazz start preseason games next week so stay in touch I’ll be giving my take on how the team looks!
